After experiencing success with trenchless relining, Izmir Water and Sewage Administration (IZSU) decided to open the tender for the project, with the expectation it will announce more cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) tenders in the near future, including larger diameter projects. Currently, 200 km of CIPP and close-fit lining installations from 300 mm to 600 mm diameter are in progress in Istanbul with completion expected by 2020. The Istanbul Water and Sewage Administration, which serves the largest city of Turkey with a population of 15 million people, is expected to announce 500 km of CIPP and close-fit tenders in 2020.
