I hail from a very poignant time in history, being born in the shadows of the second Great War. My youth was uncertain, but exciting as my modes brushed off the ashes of combat and rose forth in what was promising to be a secure future. It had to be really, if one dared look back over one's shoulder. Mind you in hindsight, many technological developments of my modes occurred as a consequence of having to fight for survival: who was it who said, "what we need is a good war"?
