FORS meets demand for UK-wide fleet compliance

FORS (the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme) has 3,500 operators signed up and is now styling itself as the 'go-to standard' for safety compliance and best practice. The organisation spoke out following a study at the Alexandra Palace Freight in the City event, late last year, in which 85% of freight decision makers said they wanted a single, UK-wide standard for CV fleets. John Hix, FORS community partnership director, says: "The scheme is now a UK-wide concern and its position is already cemented within the operating community." Importantly, he adds, progression through bronze, silver and gold FORS accreditation means that operators are encouraged to self improve.
