Australia, more than many countries, has a plethora of low density suburban developments along its populated coast, offering an ideal environment to trial driverless small electric buses. Even some larger inland towns could be good candidates. Transdev, the operator of Brisbane's ferries and some bus routes, and its partner, EasyMile have brought an 'EZ10' vehicle to Australia for demonstration purposes. Damage during road shipping from Darwin meant the vehicle was not in pristine condition for the trials, with cracked glass and some minor body damage, and the repairs could not be made in Australia. The successful operation of the vehicle was not affected: the damage enhanced the demonstration of how safe the vehicle was. This unit is well educated, 'attending' many universities during its stay.
