First a negative: The ACT Government delivered arnmixed message on public transport to the residents of Canberra in April. Early in the month it announced that one of the surface car parks on London Circuit adjoining Northbourne Avenue would be offered for sale for development of a five star hotel. Such a sale will almost certainly result in the death of any proposal to establish an off-street bus interchange in the City, because there are no other surface car parks of sufficient size to accommodate such a facility.
