These new publications appeared in July 2012 and are probably something that will appeal to many passengers. Metro Tasmania is the sole Government operator of route services in Tasmanian urban areas and previously did not have a good reputation for producing map and timetables that are easy to understand. Previously if a passenger wanted a network map all that was available would be a section of fold out map with no routes shown, just lines and different colours to highlight sections. If passengers wanted a timetable all that was available was a poorly drawn timetable with the times sometimes printed in a font so small that they were illegible. Neither timing points nor stops were shown on these. At the same time better information was available on the Internet.
