I enjoyed seeing a photo of the Forest Coach Lines articulated bus heading towards my suburb, in the December issue of TA. It is true that the main use of Forest's articulateds is on runs between the City and the Belrose/Davidson/Terrey Hills area. However, the implication that it is unusual to see an articulated bus out on a Saturday and/or not going to the City deserves some comment. Living in Terrey Hills, I daily see Forest's articulated vehicles on non-City school services in my suburb. It also quite common to see 'bendies' on trips along Mona Vale Road on any day of the week during the summer, especially in school holidays. At those times, there is a considerable traffic between Gordon on the North Shore railway line and the beach suburb of Mona Vale, requiring the use of large capacity buses.
