The big shut down

From 16 to 23 September Queensland's biggest and most expensive rail shut down event occurred, as the new Redcliffe Peninsula Railway was cut into QR's busiest rail line, the North Coast Line as all passenger and most freight traffic ceased for six days. The new line had been over 130 years in the making with two depressions and a co-ordinated bus rail service delaying its construction.
