More-than-urban ecosystems, socioecological flows and the problems with boundaries: a response to Francis et al. (2012)

In their recent commentary under the boundary crossing banner in this journal, Francis et al. (2012) argued for studying urban areas to integrate perspectives across the divide between social and ecological (sub)disciplines. We welcome Francis et al. 's intervention and value the attempt to draw our attention to the often-neglected urban dimension of human-nonhuman relationships.
