摘要

A new hydrocyclone with a central cone and a vortex finder attachment has been developed by the authors recently, and it is shown that the sharpness of separation of this new hydrocyclone is higher than that of the conventional one. In this paper, a series of experiments were carried out to further investigate the performance of this new hydrocyclone. The results showed that in all cases the sharpness of separation, flowrate ratio of underflow to feed, cut size and overall separation efficiency of the new hydrocyclone were larger than those of the conventional one. The effects of geometric parameters and position of the central cone on the hydrocyclone performance were also reported.
