摘要

When a thin cylindrical shell immersed in fluid is subjected to sinusoidal wave excitations in the horizontal direction, subharmonic vibration accompanying shell mode vibration may occur depend- ing on the excitation condition. This phenomenon was investigated by dynamic stability analysis and was proved to be dependent both on frequency and acceleration amplitude of excitation. Calculation results under sinusoidal wave excitation and comparison of dynamic pressure when subharmonic vibration occurs with elastic buckling pressure provide a criterion for assessing stability of subhar- monic vibration under seismic wave excitation.
