Results of the ASTM Task Group Intercomparison Exercise for Determination of Elemental Content of the NIST SRM 1575a, Pine Needles, invited

The ASTM Task Group for Nuclear Methods of Chemical Analysis has sponsored laboratory intercomparison exercises for the past 20 years, with the aim of providing analytical and research laboratories with the opportunity to assess their analytical capabilities. These exercises are conducted while the separate NIST analyses for certification are being conducted on the proposed SRM, and prior to certification of the final analytical values. Thus, these intercomparison efforts are made on materials which are truly "blind" samples, for which the "known" values are not yet established.
