THE UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN'S ROLE in the BIG-10 CONSORTIUM for UNIVERSITY RESEARCH and TRAINING REACTORS INIE ACTIVITIES

The University of Wisconsin was one of four Big-10 universities (including Penn State University, Purdue University, the University of Illinois) that joined in a consortium to compete in the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Nuclear Energy Science and Technology Innovations in Nuclear Infrastructure and Education (INIE) solicitation. Our goal was to establish the leading Midwestern organization for reactor-based education, research and outreach as well as design of the next generation University Research and Training Reactors (URTR) in the U.S.
