The accumulated experience of operation of nuclear reactors in last 50 years has provided in-core fuel management with heuristic rules for LP optimization. Using these rules in the optimization code will decrease the time to obtain optimal results. To use these rules, the worth definition concept is developed and combined with the GA code. When using this concept the running time of the code is decreased. The in-core re-load problem is very large problem. For example it includes approximately 10~(26) different combinations for the VVER-1000 core symmetry sector. If the burnable poison optimization is added to the problem, the size of problem will be larger than 10~(26). The size of the problem is decreased during the operation of the GA code by using the age definition, which is combined with the fuel management heuristic rules.
