Specifying Standard Problems for Validating Advanced Reactor Computational Fluid Dynamics Analysis Tools

There is a need to identify and formulate standard problems to enable the software tools that will be used to design and license advanced reactor systems to be qualified. On the basis of a phenomena identification and ranking process, the need for a number of standard problems have been identified. As a result, the Idaho National Laboratory, in conjunction with the Argonne National Laboratory, has embarked on a process to specify the necessary standard problems.
