摘要

The development of FDT~s is a significant NRC contribution towards the technical development of fire protection engineering tools by summarizing fire hazard analysis methods and making them universally available in a user-friendly form. The text contained in NUREG-1805 is written at the undergraduate level of a university curriculum for fire protection engineering students and can be used as a reference book for junior level fire science courses at community colleges. The user will find NUREG-1805 of considerable assistance in understanding the phenomena of fire in buildings, fire effects on materials, and fire response and its effects on people. NUREG-1805 will definitely improve the computational skills of those dealing with fire issues and will make the user aware of sources of information and methods that can be applied to the understanding and assessment of fire issues.
