摘要

A central issue in life extension for existing light water reactors is early detection and monitoring the development of materials degradation. Ideally, nondestructive measurement methods that are suitable for on-line, continuous, in-plant monitoring over extended time periods (months to years) are needed. A related issue is the ability to estimate the remaining useful life based on materials degradation information. To address these needs, advanced diagnostic and prognostic methods are being considered[1].
