摘要

An intermediate-resolution modeling approach is being pursued for pin-bundle thermal-hydraulics modeling to fill the gap between RANS-based methods and traditional sub-channel methods. Initial work shown here examined two options to reduce the computation resources in the RANS-based method. The inter-subchannel flow velocities were compared among different simulations, which could be used for improving subchannel-based models. Further investigations on this intermediate-resolution method will include the development of a higher resolution sub-channel type tool, in which the constitutive correlations will be derived from higher-fidelity models.
