摘要

The Thorium-Uranium (Th-U) fuel cycle has already been investigated in light water reactors, heavy water reactors, high temperature gas-cooled reactors and so on. However, those reactors have some disadvantages, such as the requirement of highly enriched driven fuel. In contrast, Fusion-Driven Subcritical reactor (FDS) has abundant high energy neutron source, making it to be a appropriate way to breed thorium fuel . Thus, the combination of fusion and fission as in a FDS system appears to be a potential way to shorten the road to the utilization of fusion reactor.
