摘要

Radiant vessel auxiliary cooling system (RVACS) and direct reactor auxiliary cooling system (DRACS) has been used for decay heat removal components in conventional liquid metal reactors (LMR). The RVACS is a passive cooling system that removes the decay heat from the main vessel by natural convection and radiation. Despite its advantages with convenience and reliability, it cannot provide an adequate heat transfer capability for the large pool type plants. Hence, for the reactors with larger capacities, DRACS is used to make up the required rate of decay heat removal. However, conventional DRACS systems are lower grade passive system itself, it needs to be improved in terms of the safety passive grade. In this study, we suggest a conceptual design of a new passive decay heat removal system and evaluate its performance by analytic calculation.
