Calculation of Photon Heat Generation for EBR-Ⅱ Using DIF3D/MC~2-3

A Coordinated Research Project (CRP) on Experimental Breeder Reactor Ⅱ (EBR-Ⅱ) Shutdown Heat Removal Test (SHRT) established by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has completed the first phase, in which simulations were performed without any knowledge of the experimental data. The CRP focused on two SHRT tests: SHRT-17 and SHRT-45R. Both neutronics analysis and thermal hydraulic assessment were involved in the CRP. The neutronic analysis was only performed for the SHRT-45R and provided the reactor power distribution, decay heat parameters, and reactivity feedback coefficients that are required for the thermal hydraulic assessment of SHRT-45R.
