摘要

This paper presents a dry SNF system licensing approach using as-loaded analyses. This proposed approach would streamline storage and transportation licensing of SNF systems and account for uncertainties due to extended storage of HBU fuel and subsequent transportation. The proposed as-loaded analysis approach is discussed for criticality but can be extended to other safety analyses. This paper also describes a new tool (UNF-ST&DARDS) that is being developed to provide a controlled, comprehensive relational Unified Database coupled with nuclear safety analysis capabilities. When fully developed, this tool can be used to implement the proposed licensing approach described in this paper.
