The effects of fuel velocity field on neutronics performances were investigated using a MSR design with complex open flow channels. Coupled neutronics and CFD calculations were performed for the Transatomic Power 1,250 MWth MSR design using the modified DIF3D code and the ANSYS CFX code. The power density, axial velocity, and temperature distributions were calculated in detail.
