摘要

We have presented the velocity measurements in the facil-ity randomly packed spheres, representing the HTR-PB core, featuring the MRI and laser-based techniques. Spatiotempo-rally resolved velocity measurements were taken in a pore-scale region using TR-PIV technique. The flow statistics such as mean velocity. Reynolds stress, and turbulent kinetic energy were calculated for the modified Reynolds number of 500. The computed statistical results revealed a large flow recirculation within the pore-scale region, while peaks of Reynolds stress and turbulent kinetic energy were found along the shear-layers created in the vicinity of the spheres' surface and where differ-ent velocities interacted/merged. Peaks of tke were found at the spatial locations where the flows in the pore-scale mixed and joined.
