To evaluate the long-term performance of BORAL® in SFPs. EPRI conducted a five-year accelerated corrosion test. For this purpose, over 200 coupons were placed in test baths representing PWR and BWR water chemistry. Areal density measurements, which were presented in earlier papers, did not show any statistically significant change for any of the coupons, including clad removed coupons. In this paper, blister and pit analysis results are presented. Out of over 200 coupons, only 10 of the coupons showed blisters, though numerous coupons showed pits; however, due to small blister and pit sizes, the impact on criticality is anticipated to be insignificant. This conclusion is supported by the analysis presented in References 8 and 9.
