摘要

The testing of fueled experiments require a clear path for coolant flow. For plate type fuel this means ensuring coolant channels are maintained throughout the irradiation experiment. For irradiation testing of U-10Mo monolithic fuel plates, intended for use in U.S. HPRRs, mid-irradiation examinations are performed between cycles to confirm fuel performance. Currently, the MP-1 irradiation campaign is ongoing. Visual examinations are performed and CGP measurements are taken of the mini-plate capsules between cycles. Between the visual and the CGP exams, a qualitative determination is made regarding the state of the coolant channels. Thus far, these have been performed on every channel of every capsule between every irradiation cycle of MP-1. Going forward with MP-1 as well as future mini-plate experiments measurements will continue to occur between cycles as needed with particular attention to cycles where irradiation conditions are outside of previously observed conditions.
