Facility for Simulating Transient Boiling Behavior Under PWR Conditions

摘要

A pulsed power system has been design to support transient boiling studies up to PWR conditions in water autoclave systems. The system has been designed, analyzed and is undergoing construction for first test results in coming weeks. The system will be used extensively to characterize transient boiling phenomena and support evaluation of in-pile instrumentation. Ultimately the system is intended to be a companion facility supporting evaluation of transient fuel performance for experiments performed in the TREAT facility.
