By adopting the 3D transport solver of PROTEUS based on the 2D MOC in radial direction and the discontinuous Galerkin method in axial direction, multidimensional transport calculation capabilities were implemented in MC~2-3 in order to represent the local heterogeneity effects accurately with minimal geometrical approximations. Preliminary verification test results with 2D ZPR-6/7 unit drawer. 3D BFS-31 unit cell and wrapper tube, and 2D ABTR fuel assembly models showed very good agreement in eigenvalue as well as isotopic cross sections with MCNP6 solutions. Further verification tests will be conducted using various problems.
