摘要

Electrochemical techniques have proven to be quick and vital when it comes to understanding corrosion reactions, kinetics and mechanisms . Due to the high temperature, molten salts cause various forms of corrosion attacks including oxidation, carburization and fluxing reactions, when in contact with metallic parts of the reactor . Understanding the corrosion rates of these material will help scientists and engineers choose materials which will elongate the lifespan of these reactors, and this has been a major concern in the nuclear industry for years[l]. The acceleration of research in the field of corrosion has been greatly enhanced in terms of the understanding of reaction mechanism kinetics, with the introduction of electrochemical methods such as free corrosion potential, cyclic voltammetry. linear polarization resistance, potentiostatic polarization, scanning polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) .
