Development and verification of experimental production of advanced nickel-based superalloy MONICR were the main objectives of the research. Experimental forging of the alloy proved the angular swaging process to be the most suitable process. Cold deformation of nickel superalloy was found to promote the recrystallization during following hot processing as preceding cold forming considerably accelerates the recrystallization process. The microstructure analysis after cold deformation followed by hot deformation proved good distribution of perfectly recrystallized grains within the whole cross-section. The research aims to contribute to the development of FHR and MSR reactor technology in the area of reactor physics, nuclear - chemical engineering and material research. The irradiation of material samples in the LVR-15 reactor (Research Centre Rez) at the epithermal neutron beam (flow density 7×00e8 n.cm~2.s~(-1)) under experimentally verified conditions are intended. Based on the obtained results, further tests will be decided. One of the possibilities is material tests in the JHR (Jules Horowitz Reactor) reactor, where the Czech Republic has an access to 3% of the research measuring capacity. Experimental production of selected components and equipment from MONICR alloy will follow the results of the research.
