Patent attorney Mike Barlow awarded OBE

Mike Barlow, a patent attorney for over 20 years, has been made an OBE in the 2010 New Year's honours list, for his services to intellectual property.rnBarlow, who now runs IP consultancy Fairoaks, has an MA and D.Phil from the University of Oxford in Chemistry and is a qualified UK and European Patent Attorney. From 1994 to 2009 he was Head of BP International's Global Patents and Technology Law group where he led BP's patenting activity. He is a past president of the IP Federation and is currently a vice president and chair of its patents committee. Until recently he was chair of the European Chemical Industry's IP task force and a council member of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys.
