US Ex-Im mulls Indian coal project despite Obama Climate plan

The Export-Import Bank of the United States (US Ex-lm) is deciding whether to fund a huge coal power project in India. That is despite the bank's board voting in favour of supporting President Obama's Climate Action Plan last December for domestic and global public lenders to stop funding coal plants overseas. The pending transaction is a 3960 MW Ultra Mega power project in Jharkand state, India, including an integrated power plant and coal mine.
