Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ (BTMU) has appointed Jean-Marie Le Fouest as its new head of commodity and structured trade finance in the investment banking division for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Le Fouest joins from BNP Paribas, where he was deputy head of energy and commodity finance and based in Geneva. He was at BNP Paribas for almost 30 years. He will be based in London at the bank's EMEA headquarters and report to BTMU's EMEA investment banking head Andrew Jameson. When contacted by Trade Finance Wednesday, BTMU confirmed the appointment without identifying Le Fouest's predecessor. This follows the departures of two senior US energy traders and head of precious metals trading in the last few months from BNP Paribas.
