Exports of Australian railway industry products and services to the United States are not large in either volume or value. Few would expect otherwise. Smart card ticketing technology, occasional rollingstock items and a range of specialist components receive a mention, but that's probably as far as it goes. The growth of Australian rail industry exports to the USA has been disproportionately slower than reflected in the industry's decade leap in exports from $50 million a year to more than $1 billion across all markets.
