Our aim in this paper is to determine the span and the stable span of the total spaces of oriented sphere bundles over spheres. In many cases the span and the stable span coincide. The special case of S-7-bundles over S-8 is particularly interesting. (C) 2016 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
