Spanish high-speed lines to carry freight traffic?

In mid-February Spanish infrastructure manager ADIF awarded a €447 000 16-month contract to Sener Ingenieria y Sistemas to analyse the effects of passenger and freight trains crossing each other at speed on the high-speed network. This is likely to occur with greater frequency in the future, thanks to the authorisation in May 2019 of the OGI variable-gauge wagon bogie design, developed jointly by ADIF, Tria and AZVI, and the development of the standard gauge Mediterranean and Atlantic Corridors in Iberia.
