Thello, the train operator owned by Trenitalia which operates day and night services between Italy and France, demonstrated its refurbished stock for the Paris-Venezia overnight train on 21 March. The company is investing €8 million in refurbishment of its restaurant cars and is adding newly-refurbished sleeping cars with "Premium" compartments for one or two people with en suite shower as well as toilets and other washing facilities. The company markets the Premium service at €290 for a single person for a single trip, although this price is reduced to €115 for early booking. The company is very pleased with the restaurant car and markets its train as "starting the holiday as soon as the passenger boards" - not an experience one gets when flying.
