CFTA gains safety certificate

On 12 March French private public transport operator Transdev announced that its subsidiary CFTA has acquired its own safety certificate. CFTA has operated passenger services under contract to SNCF for many years and still runs two lines in Brittany, from Guingamp to Paimpol and Carhaix. The new move is a precursor to Transdev bidding to operate regional train services in France. The company already operates similar services in other countries, in particular in Germany. Transdev is already bidding to operate the future CDG Express service between Paris Gare de I'Est and Roissy-Charles de Gaulle airport. The company was also a partner with Trenitalia in long-distance train operator Thello, but has now pulled out.
