Alpha Trains sets up in France

Europe's biggest train leasing company Alpha Trains (370 locos and 435 passenger trains) opened an office in France in April. The company already has offices in Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany. The move is clearly a response to the opening up to competition of rail passenger transport in France. Alpha Trains has been leasing locos to France's private freight operators since opening up in 2005, but from a base in Belgium.
