Gas absorption in liquids plays an important role in many areas of chemical engineering. The dynamics of bubbles and foams formed by mixing of a gas and a liquid is usually investigated by the example of a single bubble resting in an infinite liquid. However, the operation of many apparatuses and processes occurring in them involves the motion of gas or vapor bubbles. Among such processes are gas bubbling, which is used in many applications in the chemical and food industries, and flotation in ore dressing. Therefore, in many experimental and theoretical works, the modes of bubble motion in a liquid have been comprehensively investigated.
