Indeed, the situation in China, where a part of production capacity is focused on the domestic market, is encouraging fashion brands to reconsider their purchasing policies, and bring their production back to Europe and the Mediterranean basin. Climbing salaries, the skyrocketing prices of raw materials, and the complexity of far-off logistics also play their part in this disengagement, which should benefit European suppliers, whose primary assets are quality, security and proximity. Other factors are also contributing to the returning offer and visitorship to trade shows, including reduced production capacities caused by restructurings tied to falling prices in fashion products, the crisis and the soaring prices of raw materials.
