Rail Rover tickets offer superb value and are an excellent way to explore Britain's scenery and railways, but you could be forgiven for thinking they're also the industry's best-kept secrets. For in England they're rarely advertised - and attempts to find out about them (or, heaven forbid, actually buy one!) are often met with reticence or reluctance. Only in Scotland and Wales do the tourist boards and railway companies seem proud to shout about their Rovers and actively market them. Everywhere else, they seem to be well-hidden.
