ORION

Although Gladstone now forms part of the National Collection, the Stephenson Locomotive Society does still own a steam locomotive, albeit in 91/2 in gauge. Orion is a working model of an LNWR 4-cylinder Webb 'Alfred the Great' class compound with a 'Precursor' boiler and was built by G.R.S. Darroch, a premium apprentice at Crewe under Francis Webb and George Whale.
