NRM names its new Director

The National Railway Museum has appointed a successor to Andrew Scott as head of the museum. He is 50-year-old Steve Davies MBE, currently Director of the Museum of Science & Industry in Manchester.rnSteve is an ex-Army officer who was Chief of Staff Headquarters 2nd Division with responsibility for 10,000 troops. While serving in Sierra Leone, west Africa, he used his free time to transform a warehouse of decaying trains into a national railway museum for the country, initially paying staff wages from his own pocket.
