Electro Motive Diesel (EMD) has begun trials of cab air-conditioning on First GBRf Class 66s locos. The first to be fitted is No. 66732.rnEMD is providing a condenser unit as part of the trial, which started in August and will last three months.rnIf successful, the enhancement could be rolled out across the rest of the GBRf fleet. The project sees Porterbook Leasing as partners, and there is also likely to be interest from DB Schenker, Freightliner, DRS, Fastline and Advenza, which are also Class 66 users.
