The Baby Deltic Project demonstrated its Napier T9-29 engine with its first public start-up at Barrow Hill's August 8/9 diesel gala, mounted in the bodyshell of No. 37372.rnThis is the sole-surviving engine from one of the ten English Electric Type 2, Class 23 locos, Nos. D5900-D5909, the last of which, No. D5901 was scrapped in 1977. It had outlived the others by several years, having been used by the Railway Technical Centre, Derby.
