Quainton Railway Society, which evolved out of the London Railway Preservation Society (one of the original regional bases of the Railway Preservation Society - see RM Jan 2009) celebrated its 40th anniversary at the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre on August 30.rnA celebratory cake was cut by Anthea Hanscombe (one of the famed 'Steaming Grannies' - Janice Uphill, the other, was also present) and Bev Potter. Both ladies have volunteered since the beginning of the BRC.
