Sittingbourne & Kemsley Light Railway Kerr Stuart 0-4-2ST Melior left its home line on June 14 for the first time since delivery to the original industrial line in 1924.rnThe move, with a carriage and track, was to appear at the June 27-28 Preston Rally at Canterbury.rnWith the SKLR closed throughout 2009, the rally was to provide the only opportunity to ride behind an SKLR loco this year, although the operation wasrnsuch a huge success the railway and equipment will remain at the site until September, possibly seeing further use.rn1. Sadly, these operations were the last occasion on which long-time SKLR volunteer Tony James was to see a Sittingbourne loco and carriage working.
