The Parry People Mover (PPM) has received its passenger certification from Network Rail for use on the Stourbridge Town branch. Approval for the Class 139 unit to be used came on March 26, and operator London Midland has said that the railcar will enter service on Saturdays and Sundays in April, operated under subcontract by Pre Metro Operations Ltd, with a view to full service being introduced when the new timetable begins in May. While unit No. 139002 has been making test runs on the short branch line, but not carrying passengers, a rail replacement bus service has operated.
