Plans to construct a narrow gauge line (probably 15in) on part of the route of the old British Aluminium Company railway - known as the 'Puggy Line' - near Fort William have been dropped.rnPromoted by the Lochaber Railway Company, the project has been abandoned due to "funding issues". High-profile supporters included John Cameron, former chairman of BR (Scotland) and owner of two standard gauge steam locos. The company was known as the Kinlochleven Steam Railway Company until September 20, 2005. Previous ideas for a 2ft 6in gauge line based at Kinlochleven and utilising part of a different one-time 3ft gauge line used in support of the aluminium industry in the Scottish Highlands (RM Oct 2002) also failed.
